Goodbye Summer! {Week #35}

Can you believe it? Another summer comes to a close. It was in the summer of last year that this blog was started. It feels weird, that I stuck to something this long. I mean, yeah, I blogged super past the deadline often but it still got done. There was just so many times in my life that I stopped doing things, times when I got overwhelmed or lazy, just periods where I didn't do shit that I liked doing. Turns out I like blogging. I mean, is this blog sort of self-important and banal? Yeah. But I always think about how fun it is to read blogs people wrote 10 or 20 years ago, a peek into their lives at the time. It's a whole time capsule. Maybe someone out there will also find the most mundane person of all time (me) interesting to read about one day... It also helps me remember things. I have spiderwebs up there instead of a brain.

So, I've totally failed at my summer bucket list. But that's okay, that means there will be more to do next year. Monday I was working on the 2026 calendar I wanna make and did some maintenance on my clique (CDwORLD). On Tuesday I was supposed to get Private Music finally, it was already so late. But it arrived later on Thursday... and the disc was cracked. I was mad. Fortunately after I sent picks to the distributor they sent me back a return slip and I sent it back. I was not gonna pay delivery on that too! I'm an idiot in general because this CD is basically everywhere in France, including at our biggest Leclerc. I'm glad that France still sells so much physical media but I wish my dumbass deduced that Deftones were big enough to be sold on the day here too...

On Wednesday I met with a social worker so I can finally continue my process with job-seeking, welfare, training, and all that. She was really nice but it turns out that I'll be going to a different office now because I'm single and no kids. Forever! 

On Thursday we finally finished Uncharted 4, the port to PC was really ass so we had so much lag. Gorgeous game! And fun. I was joking that I was an Uncharted hater but I was worse, I was totally ambivalent. Well I like it now, you win, nerds. I've also started Deathloop and it's fun and very, very stylish. 

Have a bit of an issue. My mum and sister went to Bordeaux with my card earlier this month but they forgot to tell me how much they spent so now I'm penniless. I'll live but it's kind of annoying mostly because the banking app is so trash and doesn't update until like 2 days later... 

On Friday and the Weekend I was busy finishing my Blaugust posts. The last one got pretty long but I;m glad it's done. I'll definitely plan better for next year. On Sunday we also watched the complete version of Final Fantasy VII Advent Children with Tom. He dropped the lore on us in like 15 minutes. Speed run. I watched that movie so much as a kid and only now I understood anything. 

I don't have any pics this week to be honest, it's been busy yet somehow boring. No cool kids to photograph! But yeah, I'm pretty excited for September and autumn. Cold, please. And everything is just happening again, at least for me. Also I get to move into my new planner, I've been excited to for months.

This Week I'm Excited For...

When I still had money this month, specifically my commission money, I ordered a camera. It's for me in general but also for this blog! Nothing beats an aged digicam. I'm waiting for it, super excited.

Song Of The Week...

This was a hard pick this week because I'm not really sure what I listened to the most this week. Listened to a bunch of old favourites but I prefer to put something newly found when I have my songs of the week. I guess what made enough of an impact on me this week was Eileen by Jason Isbell. I learnt about Isbell from Mel of pagemelt, they bring them up in a couple of their really great vids. But yeah, I like this sort of country, blues, folk. It's close to my greatest of all time, Jason Molina. Also Jackson C. Frank, so underrated.
