Browsing... {Week 36}

Hey everyone. New post, new week, new month, new format (sort of?), new everything. Not really. But I'm trying some different things here. Isn't it convenient that everything's starting on a Monday? September, my new planner, other stuff probably.

I'm going to have scans of my monthly calendar, monthly goals, and my weekly spread from the start of the week or month and from the end. Why? I don't know, feels fun to make them and it keeps me a bit more accountable. Anyway, here's what the plan of the week was on Monday:

Week 36 begins!

I started work on the actual calendar, well, the layout. I got something going on, I think. My camera arrived super early! It's gorgeous but the seller didn't include the charger even though they said they would. Now I'm freaking out a bit. I'm sure it works but I can't immediately test it so I'm worried. Hope they message back soon.

Why??

Been missing Zhongshan and found a photo of me, grandma, and my dad at the Zhongshan Movie Studio from who knows how long ago! Not my photo, here's where you can see what the entrance looks like.

A childhood place!

On Tuesday I was busy with much of the same but I also had to go over to Monique's to help her with her computer. Boomers are so funny, she was freaking out because she couldn't convert excel sheets to PDF her usual way so she assumed it's all over (I mean, me too). But yeah I fixed it up for her and she was very impressed with my IT skills (clicking some shit).

Worked on a fanlisting for Ergo Proxy, it's looking not bad. We watched Searching with the whole family but mum got mad at us because we just keep talking, especially Mo, he literally could not shut up if everyone's lives were on the line.

Busy day on Wednesday. Sent what I had to send and called with V, we haven't called in ages! Also, my French teacher called me to let me know that classes are starting next Wednesday. Excited but scared. Don't know why, I have only about 2 months left but still...

On Thursday we did our cleaning part-time and I dropped by the outlet shop to browse. Bought some cute stuff you can see on the fashion/shopping blog. I've been browsing old gaming mags on the Internet Archive. Man, even beyond the 90/2000s ones that I was too young to really experience, I was there for games that came out 2011-2016. Those years were fucking amazing for games. I've been especially nostalgic for 2016 games, it's actually insane how many good games there were in a single year...

My brief and barely thought-out ranking, if I don't list a great game it's probably cuz I haven't played it or it's Overwatch (that shit will NEVER be on any of my lists).

1. Titanfall 2

2. Firewatch

3. Uncharted 4

4. Watch_Dogs 2

5. Oxenfree

6. ABZU

7. Mirror's Edge Catalyst

8. The Division

Friday was very busy but fun. From the fun stuff, I finally got my copy of the collector's edition of Witch Hat Atelier volume 14 which came with a Brushbuddy! He's so cute...

Pinpin!

My brushbuddy!

They weren't beefing for once.

We went to McDonalds at my sister's request as she just started school again. Nothing happened yet but we're already celebrating. Story of my life. The sky was very beautiful that day:

Wow!

Saturday was busy with more work with drawing for the calendar. Played a lot of Deathloop, I killed Charlie like twice already and I can keep going, he's such a little bitch. And Egor too. Little bitch. I've also been listening to Private Music strictly on CD and well... I'm a changed man. Seriously, the grandeur of the album is finally upon me. All I needed to do was delete those ugly ass visualizers from my mind and the music speaks for itself.

Since we finished Uncharted 4 we picked out a new game to play all together, it's Watch_Dogs 2 this time. I think it's probably one of my most replayed games ever, next to Black Flag and Mirror's Edge.

Looking regal.

On Sunday me and Mo finally ordered the Xbox 360 we've been eyeing for ages. I had it as one of my to-dos for like... probably a year now. We decided we'd better just do it while we have some money saved up at last. Stay posted for when we go game shopping for it, we already know we're getting Fable 1-3, Call Of Duty Ghosts, and all the Skate games.

Anyway, that's the week! Here's the planner by the end of it. I know, I know, I went a little crazy but I had fun keeping up with tasks for once so a minor pat on my own back.

This Week I'm Excited For...

The Xbox 360 to arrive! We'll go pick out some games and take it for a spin. We had a 360 years ago but sadly parted with it when we moved, though it went into the good hands of a friend. Still, I miss just shooting the shit with friends or my brother via split-screen. It's a lot of fun playing the PS3 with Tom so it's good to have a family console for ourselves as well. Plus, it's a DVD player too!

Image Of The Week...

Since I was nostalgic for Zhongshan, I browsed some pics of the city on flickr. I found this ancient pic of the Zhongshan Ferry Terminal, a spot I spent quite a bit of time at, catching the ferry to Hong Kong before the Hong Kong-Zhuhai bridge was built. Those damn green chairs were still there when I last took a trip! Here's the original.

Song Of The Week...

Even though I have seriously warmed up to Private Music, I need more time to really get familiar with the tracks. Meanwhile, I was enjoying more Sparta. Threes is a pretty strange album, but it has an abundance of great tracks, my fave is Red.Right.Return.
