Week 36

I've been at my PC most of the week. Monday started well enough, I actually wrote something on my music blog, an entry I had in draft for a while and another one about my most recent obsessions, 32 Leaves. My mum is sick again, I ran around all morning, to the pharmacy, to the doctor's office. We also re-watched Stealing Beauty, it's a great looking movie but everyone is such a creep to Lucy...

On Tuesday, I did a lot of studying and some other things for the betterment of myself I have been trying to force myself to commit to. Otherwise I had the dumbest argument with my mum over food. Monique gave us leftover food from her party which included these lean rare beef cuts that I may have mentioned in an earlier entry.

˚ʚ ☘︎ ɞ ˚ My sister and Yoshi. ˚ʚ ☘︎ ɞ ˚

Anyway, these are usually expensive so I was super excited that she gave me so many and I was going to enjoy them with her homemade sauce. I love rare beef, like not totally raw but a bloody middle is fine by me. Anyway, my mum decided to cook them in a pasta and I was super and over that because she knew I loved those beefs. Anyway, we made peace eventually and I know its a dumb thing to get mad over but I was just so excited about them.

˚ʚ ☘︎ ɞ ˚ Saw these shoes at a store. Threatened to buy them for my brother. ˚ʚ ☘︎ ɞ ˚

Otherwise me and grandma walked to the really big supermarket. She was mostly unimpressed with everything but that's just the grandma way.

On Wednesday I was supposed to go to a dinner at a family friend's house but opted out because of a migraine (I also didn't want to go). Anyway, the family friend later texted me that their neighbour from across came over too and that he's a cute guy. Yuck. Like, I hate that. I really do not need to be set up with someone. Plus I already know most guys think I'm ugly as all hell. I don't need reminding. I don't really trust dudes to know much about beauty anyway. I know I just decided for this random guy that he thinks I'm ugly  based on literally nothing and that's super insecure but the truth is most people are kind of the same when it comes to this kind of thing. Beauty, so coveted. I don't care...

We went to the thrift store after lunch and found a bunch of cute things. I got a nice t-shirt and a bag. Also got a little bowl for keeping trinkets and a cute teacup with a little alligator.

˚ʚ ☘︎ ɞ ˚ Cuties. ˚ʚ ☘︎ ɞ ˚

Best of all though is that I picked up a whole 6 CDs! I should write about it on my music blog...

˚ʚ ☘︎ ɞ ˚ Overpriced DVD players. ˚ʚ ☘︎ ɞ ˚

  ˚ʚ ☘︎ ɞ ˚ Pics of the thrift store/recyclerie. ˚ʚ ☘︎ ɞ ˚

˚ʚ ☘︎ ɞ ˚ My Queen, o, and her lovely anatomically incorrect arms. ˚ʚ ☘︎ ɞ ˚

 ˚ʚ ☘︎ ɞ ˚ The sacred place (DVD aisle).˚ʚ ☘︎ ɞ ˚

I keep seeing this framed picture there, it's a very hideous piece of MSPaint art but it has a sweet note on the back that makes me sad to know the owner decided to give it away. Jenben writes to Meg: 'Yo Meg, I hope this picture brings back some happy memories we shared, love from Jenben'. Why not keep at least the note as a memento? Maybe they actually hated each other.

˚ʚ ☘︎ ɞ ˚The monstrosity... but also what about all the symbolism? ˚ʚ ☘︎ ɞ ˚

˚ʚ ☘︎ ɞ ˚ Yoshi enjoyed the newspaper. ˚ʚ ☘︎ ɞ ˚

Thursday was fine. Mum's friend came over for lunch, we had grandma's soup. It was nice. I recently subscribed to ModernGurlz's newsletter that comes in a form that is very similar to teen mags of the 2000s. I'm getting my fix from it at the moment though it's a little short. I don't use Instagram so I've decided to post my throwback bingo onto my blog.

˚ʚ ☘︎ ɞ ˚ Where's everyone going? Bingo? ˚ʚ ☘︎ ɞ ˚

Have you ever...

1. Joined a school club or organization?

Sure did. A few too. I was the school president for a year and won in a landslide. Evidence of the incompetency of the average voter. I was also a second trumpet in the school band for a few years (late demoted to third trumpet). My first club ever though, was yearbook club. We wasted a year goofing off and making questionable page layouts. Props to the teachers though, they actually printed them as is.

 ˚ʚ ☘︎ ɞ ˚ My dumb-ass at the front with the trumpet. ˚ʚ ☘︎ ɞ ˚

 ˚ʚ ☘︎ ɞ ˚ Me and my best friend in horrible band outfits. ˚ʚ ☘︎ ɞ ˚

2. Actually had a pet destroy your homework?

Not directly my homework but one time my cat peed on my laptop. Damn cat. I love her.

3. Played a prank on a teacher?

Our entire class did. We had two new teachers meet us at the same time and when they called out names we all responded to the wrong ones. So Alex was John, John was Kevin etc. It was just confusing and not a very good prank.

4. Ate lunch in a bathroom stall?

Surprisingly no. It was mostly because we weren't allowed to eat outside the canteen.

5. Failed a class and had to retake it?

I never failed anything bad enough to retake it. I almost didn't get my high school diploma though. I had very high grades and very low grades, no in between. It sucked.

6. Had a crush on a teacher?

Not really a teacher, but one of our teacher's son visited once and worked as a part-time librarian. He was super cute.

7. Auditioned for a school musical?

Our school was pretty small so everyone had to be in plays without choice. I was a witch, a prince, and a landlady. Once I was nominated to be Sherlock Holmes himself for a musical called Sheerluck Holmes where he is comically incompetent. The stress of just imagining being the lead drove me to beg the teachers to pick someone else.

  ˚ʚ ☘︎ ɞ ˚ I wanted to be a gangster but they made me a land-lady. ˚ʚ ☘︎ ɞ ˚

8. Gotten in trouble for passing notes?

I thought I hadn't but then I remembered... One friend and I were fucking around and drawing dicks in a notebook. A teacher sneaks up on us, mad as hell, we hide the book with the dick page downwards. He grabs it and flips it to an clean page without looking at our dick manifesto. Phew. Not really passing notes but the energy was the same.

9. Skipped school and gone to the mall?

If I ever skipped school it was to stay home.

10. Gotten dress coded?

Our school was super strict about wearing black shoes and not wearing the PE jacket when not in PE. I got told off for both a lot.

  ˚ʚ ☘︎ ɞ ˚ The boring regular uniform. ˚ʚ ☘︎ ɞ ˚

   ˚ʚ ☘︎ ɞ ˚ Beloved PE uniform. ˚ʚ ☘︎ ɞ ˚

11. Aced a test you crammed  for the night before?

Yeah. Statistics and psychology. I think I barely studied.

12. Stayed after school for detention?

Ain't ever been that bad. I'm such a loser...

13. Free space.

Free space!

˚ʚ ☘︎ ɞ ˚ The truly good times were going out with the girls. ˚ʚ ☘︎ ɞ ˚

14. Slow danced at prom?

Oh boy, did I. First of all I slow danced with a lot of my girl friends and I suspect it meant much more to me than to them in retrospect. But the worst one was when I danced with this guy I had a crush on. Conversation went as follows:

A Thousand Years by Christina Perri is the song. He is barely touching me by the waist, I can barely reach up to his tall-ass shoulders.

Him: So... like, do you think anyone can love someone for a thousand years?

Me: A lot of people don't know this but in Star Wars there was another character from Yoda's species, Yaddle. So since they both can live thousands of years they could technically be together for that long.

Him: ....Cool.

I don't want to be allowed to talk ever again.

˚ʚ ☘︎ ɞ ˚ Why do these photos look so drunk? It was literally a school event. ˚ʚ ☘︎ ɞ ˚

15. Traded lunches with another student?

I shared but never traded.

16. Had your phone confiscated?

A lot of kids did but not me, I'm a sneaking sneaky fuck.

17. Been in the cafeteria during a food fight?

We never had even one food fight. Thank goodness because I hate wasting food.

18. Decorated your graduation hat?

We were given ours during graduation and they were taken off of us right after.

19. Gotten first place at the science fair?

We never had one but I did win an award for outstanding delegate at MUN. And we won gold at Battle of the Books once.

20. Cried at school?

Embarrassed to say, not just once.

21. Accidentally called your teacher 'mom' or 'dad'?

No and I haven't seen anyone else do this either.

22. Left your lunchbox in your locker over the weekend?

No but I left my phone at school over the winter holidays and only realized one week in. I miss the days when I really didn't care about my phone.

23. Walked in the wrong classroom and sat down?

I was always lucky enough to realize I'm in the wrong place stat. And leave faster than sound.

24. Got sent to the principal's office?

Yes! And it was bullshit too. Some kid said I made fun of another kid which didn't happen. There was also one time when I threatened this other kid with death when he was trying to beat up my brother and then lied and said I didn't do that... Okay, I know that makes me sound like a liar but the first thing really was bullshit.

25. Been on the honor roll?

Never! I was always second-best at best.

Apparently my Aries mean girl is Regina George, in a lot of ways the OG, the blueprint. I always found her pretty sad and pitiful.

Friday things started to get going, which is pretty super late in the week for things to get going. I started to really slap my site together. I'm pretty happy with where it's heading. I made a mistake last time where I rushed a lot of pages in order to upload it fast, so I'm going to try to take my time this time. Also did more work on my comic but honestly I am totally slacking off. At this rate putting even one chapter out will be a miracle.

˚ʚ ☘︎ ɞ ˚ A chair my mum fixed up. ˚ʚ ☘︎ ɞ ˚

Saturday was alright, more work on the site. But in the morning we went to the same family friend's house to do some work. We demolished a huge built-in cabinet in their laundry room and got rid of mold and wall bits that were super wet and falling off. He paid me and my brother 20 euros each. Made me feel like a little British boy labouring, though if they made 20 euros an hour they would be loaded in those days. I also put together a cupboard for Marta that the family friends drove over for us because they went to IKEA by car.

Sunday was at home on the account of everything is closed and we all wanted to stay home. We watched movies picked by grandma. We also started to do a little work on the entry room of the house, it's nothing fancy. I did all the rough plaster, covering gaps, and holes, and smoothing things out. Went fine. I'm no Michelangelo but I can sculpt a bit of plaster into something flat, I'll tell you that. I finished the art page for my site and fought tooth and nail with the lighbox CSS. I like to think I know a lot of CSS but honestly there is still a lot to understand. I want to let Sundays be my Javascript learning days come next week.

 ˚ʚ ☘︎ ɞ ˚ Royalty! Bow in her presence. ˚ʚ ☘︎ ɞ ˚

So, that's about it. A bit on edge, mostly okay. No horoscopes this week, I can't even entertain it.
