Anyway, he got diagnosed with a pretty late stage of cancer in his lungs. The prognosis is terrible, like with Rose, another of Monique's friends. It's the worst fucking thing. Monique herself underwent a number of surgeries to remove a tumor as well and she's been much weaker recently too but she's in the safe zone now. Noel is not and it's been taking a toll on him.
So the least we could do is go clean his boat up. It's not huge but very cozy and since the day was hot we didn't care that we got splashed a lot. I was on duty hauling buckets of water right out of the canal when I wasn't mopping/scrubbing. Had to lift it over my head once and literally almost drowned myself because I just don't foresee anything ever. Dumbest moment was when my brother threw me these smaller buckets we were using and they went over board. Shit! I tried to catch one with a stick but they landed right at the center of the canal. I look back and my brother's already shirtless for some reason. I'm like, what the fuck are you doing, are you going to jump into the canal? He was going to but that's so dumb so I just told him to wait til it drifts to the shore and we got one back like that but the other one was lost to the waters. RIP.
I didn't take any pics sadly but we did a pretty good job, it looked much better than when we got there. Monique dropped us off and I thought I'd get more work done but Tom called and we got into a match of Dead by Daylight with my brother and Hisham. Hisham had to write his thesis so he left early and we played a little more but my brother would not stop bitching at the game so eventually it was just me and Tom and I'm not gonna lie I do not get this game but who cares. I did get to play as Heather/Cheryl Mason because my brother has the Silent Hill DLC.
On Tuesday I went to the store to get groceries and such. I looked for a gift for Tom but couldn't find anything cute so I decided to just get him the super cool edition of Mass Effect like my brother suggested. My brother got him Prey and we also dropped by the Noz to get him a birthday card. There was one that said 'Happy Anniversary, Husband' that we almost got but we settled for 'Princess'. I also picked up some cute stickers, crafting paper, and some really great pens (I'll probably be back for more).

The birthday bitch <3 |
We met up with him at our place in the afternoon and dropped by the supermarket for snacks. After we headed to his house (the batcave!!) and played Mod Nation again but honestly it took everyone like 2 hours to make their Mods and cars so we played like only 5 races, it was fun though so who cares. He was supposed to be out with friends on his b-day and not with us losers but they were busy on that day so he had to settle for us. He also invited my mum later which is hilarious. So we had a dinner all together (with his mum) and talked a lot of shit in a English-French hybrid. Found out he's an Avril girlie too! We have to have an Avril party or something soon.

Cake time (๑ᵔ⤙ᵔ๑) |
Anyway, Tom almost died laughing when my brother tried to say 'I like pizza' but he keeps confusing J'aime (I like/love...) with Je t'aime (I love you). So he keeps saying 'I love you, pizza' all the fucking time and it sounds so dumb, we had a good laugh at that.

End of the party ヾ( ˃ᴗ˂ )◞ • *✰ |
Shot some more shit, tried to persuade Tom to try some older Assassin's Creed game. Only worked when we revealed that Jacob is shirtless during the fight club segments. Edward was apparently not good enough because he doesn't like blondes (good for him). Then we went home and watched some more of Return of The King but didn't manage to finish it still. Director's cut, damn you!
Still, my favourite scene ever happened: when Eowyn kills the Witch-king. Love that shit.
Wednesday I literally wasted away... I know, I always complain about wasting time and feeling tired even when I do nothing, I get it! But it's felt especially tedious this week, maybe because the heat's picking back up. I did scan a bunch of old pics so that I'll always have digital copies. Also because my space is becoming a real mess, I have no space to keep anything. I'm scanning a bunch of shit so I have easy access to it without having to unpack a bunch of boxes.
Otherwise we finished ROTK and now Mo wants to go straight into the Hobbit even though we should have started there. I think the Hobbit films are pretty good but much weaker than the original trilogy.
Thursday was pretty productive, I finally broke off the ugly ass tiles that were like a baseboard on our first floor. I was sweaty. Tried to work on some projects but I've been feeling so out of my depth, literally everything feels uninspired and dull. Maybe I'm just a shitty creative. Argh.
On Friday I was supposed to go on Noel and Pascal's boat for a small ride down the canal but I got a sudden migraine and I just imagined sitting on a boat for hours, socializing... I thought it would make me more sick. So I mostly napped, when Mo got back we made a pizza and watched Pitch Black. It's no Sunshine or Alien but it's pretty fun.

Should have been me... |
Saturday and Sunday sucked. I tried to get as much work done as possible but it was hot as hell. Literally, my brain just switches off and I can't have a coherent thought if it's hotter than 35. Andrei came over on Sunday to help my mum install the lights in our dining/living room. They look really cool.
That's about it for this week.
This Week I'm Excited For...
I'm sending a parcel at last that I've been meaning to send for a while, it's just taken ages to get it all together. You know who you are!
Image Of The Week...
I tried to reverse search this one but I couldn't. A cute-ugly GIF of a mystical cloudy/ocean kingdom and a pterodactyl that I found on GIFcities. Old CG is some kind of beautiful to me, especially when it comes to desolate, expansive environments. So haunting.
Song Of The Week...
A little pop, Ever by After. In fact, a little 2000s-inspired pop that is so 2000s it's kind of hard to believe it's been made in the 2020s. Honestly, I wasn't sure about After at first. I mean we live in the age of recycled nostalgia for the 2000s, glamorizing a decade that was kind of the same as now with all the same problems and then some. Plus it's a very straight interpretation of the 2000s radio friendly pop song, no changes or developments. But honestly... I kind of respect it. It's an indie project and you can tell how much love for the style they have even if it does have roots in something commercial and bleak. Plus there's no denying that the melody, the production, and the vocals are amazing. If you just want a pretty tune made by someone who has a clear love for what they're doing check out their entire EP.
