In A World Of My Creation {Week 43}

It's me. Late as fuck. I know. Sorry. It's been a time... a very intense month with even more coming up on the horizon. I'm scared.

I'd say the highlight of the week was really finding my own fun and letting my imagination go completely off the rails. Just like I used to as a kid. This was mostly thanks to Ironsworn and just generally all the new stuff I learned about solo and journaling RPGs. I was always like I don't wanna play DnD anymore... can't get no one together, there's always a guy who's a stickler for the rules to no end and so on. Well, now I can do my nerd shit by myself and it's petty nice.

Week 43.

On Monday I got all dressed up for my day but I couldn't stop sneezing and coughing and decided to skip class and not subjects others to... all that. As such, it was a wasted day, I started to feel a little better in the evening but otherwise I was not feeling it. The Teen Scream thing is totally dead in the water but a valiant attempt was made. It's an idea I like so I'll come back to it eventually.

Tuesday, I ended up going to class. For the first time despite going to this town nearly everyday, I sat down at the central cafe to have a chocolatine and tea. It was really nice and they had lots of indoor seating so I whipped out my notebook and continued to work on my solo RPG project.

Moody weather.

The park is so gorgeous. Finally most leaves are turning brown, orange, red. I keep forgetting my camera though! It's such a great camera and since it's finally in a pouch I just need to stop forgetting it. Class was pretty good, Aicha was not our teacher today because we had a special class on everything digital, especially internet safety and eco-friendly use of tech. I seriously let it all out in my broken ass French when we got onto the topic of social media. Just every grievance, misinformation, fake 'perfect' lives, the destruction of our attention and more and more and more. The teacher really got me and she told me that she only uses Facebook for a book club. This will be my last full week as I will have my last day on the 28th, next Tuesday. That will be a sad day...

On Wednesday I started my annual Over The Garden Wall watch party. What a perfect series in every way. Wish we had more cartoons in this sort of fable/fantasy type of world. Cheated some more and went on YouTube to watch an actual play of Ironsworn because I wanted to understand the mechanics of the game but got swept up in the Parenti brothers' Ironsworn campaign. It's so good and funny, I can't wait to watch their journey continue in the Sundred Isles. My campaign will be very science-fantasy, sort of Star Wars, so I'll probably get myself the Starforged guide. I would love to one day purchase a physical copy of it or something.

Woke up late...

On Thursday all the trains were cancelled because of a storm. That was super lucky for me as my period started and I was suffering TM. Took the day to work more on my campaign: it is set in an isolated great continent of only ice and snow. I ordered some dice and I can't wait to get them, I've never had a D10 before.

Also, Xandra of much indie web fame and the 32bit Cafe team made a post about the autumn issue of Good Internet Magazine for which I did the cover! Yay! It's now available for pre-order both in print and digital. How cool is that? I really want to order a copy but I'll have to see if I have some spare cash by the end of the month.

Does this count as being published?

Friday, I was still in pain so I skipped class. Feels pretty awful to skip so many days in a single week, my last week too! But I just don't think my body could have handled it.

Then it was the weekend, the weather has been pretty rainy so it's a perfect time to stay indoors. I actually for real, organized the digital files on my computer. Seriously! After many, many months, maybe years? It is done. Now, to actually keep it that way... Also went by the supermarket, saw the most sad and French thing on the floor: a broken bottle of wine and a torn up baguette. RIP.

Tragic.

Also, I got a lava lamp for my birthday 2 years ago and I finally can use it since I have my own room! It's so awesome, check it out:

And so the week ends and soon enough so will the month. Where's all the time going?! It's weird out here.

End of Week 43.

This Week I'm Excited For...

Halloween, duh! We'll probably be exhausted after we work picking kiwis but I still want to have fun. I don't think we'll have time to finish the costumes but it's not a big deal because we have some witch hats to put on in case.

Song Of The Week...

Since I spent a lot of time this week creating my science fantasy snow world, I've been revisiting old post rock favourites. I felt like I didn't listen to enough pg.lost so I started with them and basically got addicted. My fave right now is Terrain.
