Week 37

Keeping it short and everything but sweet this week. Grandma got a sudden pain in her leg and it was looking better until suddenly it got much worse. Now she can't even walk without leaning on something so we're freaking out about how she's gonna fly home. Also ran into the reality of treatment for people without the right documentation in France. We get everything for free but she can't because she has no permit or anything and we weren't about to hospitalize her for 1000 euro a day. We couldn't anyway, we don't have that kind of money. 

Before she got hurt we visited another town for a little shopping. Me and Mo (my brother) went to what is a chain pawn shop in France, Easycash and had a look at the goods. I picked up a copy of Escaflowne on DVD, every single episode! We also looked at their consoles and saw that we can buy an Xbox 360 like we once had for basically 50 euro. And all the games are pretty cheap too. That's our next goal when I actually can go to work.

So she saw a doctor who didn't really do anything, then a chiropractor who tried but it did nothing. She's going to have to wait it out till she sees her doc back home. This sucks majorly because she's stuck at home now. So we're sitting around but her hard-earned trip is basically wasted. Ah, well. We're lucky enough to have her here at all.

I myself have been having bleeding in my gums (TMI, I know) and got an appointment for the 2nd of December. That's more than two months away! But it's totally free so I'll take it. 

The few highlights of the week included the Moon Mirror listening party which was on the 12th. It was on Bandcamp with other Nada Surf fans and Nada Surf themselves. Lovely. I can't wait to get my CD in the mail already. Called my best friend, V. Miss her a lot. Some goodies came in on Thursday too.

Stuck on YouTube way too much these days. I had fun stuff on like Scary Interesting for my spooks and Vitalyspace for my 2000s obsessions. I always catch up with the news via Hasanabi, American news have been wearing me down, man. Poor Americans. The world seriously sucks.

We started to do a small construction job for some friends, so I hope that will help us pay the property tax at the end of the year. Excited for Cringetober too. Started waking up earlier. Small victories.
