Week 35

So, it's been one hell of a week. On Monday Grandma finally began her journey to us, her first stop was Yerevan where my dad drove out to meet her and make sure she was good. As I suspected he did not pass along the hard drives which pissed me off a lot and I argued about it with him and my mum. My mum did eventually agree that he screwed me over.

It's kind of relieving, because when I was still a kid my dad would get away with a lot of shitty behavior and my mum wouldn't really criticize him over it. He's not abusive, just shitty, distant, and judgemental. Anyway this really put me on edge because I wanted those damn drives, man. They have all our old pictures and now he can't transfer them because his PC can't read them.

Tuesday I was feeling really down. I get these bursts of such deep-seeded apathy it's ridiculous. I can't care about anything for a moment and it feels like shit. Probably had to do with the fact that the local youth unemployment office (they are called Mission Locale in France) offered me a great professional training course. It wasn't just free, I would have been paid for taking it. France is super advanced in a lot of things. Anyway, because I don't have my renewed ID document I can't open a bank account and without a bank account I can't work, receive welfare, or any other subsidies. It fucking sucks. At least I finished my A2.

On Wednesday we prepared the house some more. I spent most of the day making the layout of my new site. I'm pretty happy with it so far but there are lots of details I'm going to need to edit. Mum and Grandma are enjoying themselves in Paris for two days.

Thursday we did some final things around the house. I made a pasta-bake, it looked so painfully American... Matvey loves stuff like that though. I bought Grandma a bouquet of pink roses and even got Simona an appointment at the vet's because she was still sick. Anyway, my sister, my brother, and me went to the train station at about 17:30 to pick up Grandma and mum. They hopped off the train and we were all together after three years! It was great. Later at home we had dinner, showed Grandma the house, and took it easy. I'm just glad Grandma did the whole journey well because she has blood pressure problems so we are always worried.

Friday we were invited for a fancy lunch so we spent most of the morning getting ready. Yeah, I'm at that point in my life with inactivity that if I have something coming up at lunch I have to mentally prepare hours ahead and can't multitask. It was Monique's birthday, so it was her, our family, and our long-time friends Lina and Rene. It was tasty but we nearly died for being so full...

Saturday was the market as usual. Grandma, mum, and me went to Noz to look at some discounts and I found three DVDs! Mum has been sick since last night though. In the evening Monique had another party where a lot of guests came to her house and it was super nice but also so awkward. I just hate huge gatherings. There was this small girl, Chloe who enjoyed drawing with me a couple of times last year but she totally did not recognize me this time. That's so funny, I remember when I would meet an adult and my mum would be like, remember them? And I wouldn't. Guess I'm the adult now, huh...

On Sunday, the summer came to an end. Hello, September! Simona is finally well. Monique brought us a lot of unfinished foods from her party including cold beef slices... I love cold beef slices...

I became super into cave-diving horror story videos recently. I was always fascinated because cave-diving has to be the dumbest possible way to spend your time that I can come up with. Still, a lot of people do it. Enough end badly enough to warrant scary stories on YouTube.
